Daylight Savings Time

Time springs forward and falls back for Americans and some other people around the world. Thanks to the Daylight Savings Time. But it does not for us Filipinos. We don't practice DST. But I am very familiar with it. Well, at least to when the day and time, most specifically in the US, it's either springing forward or falling back. It's happening in less than 24 hours. On Sunday, once Americans' clocks hit 2AM US Time, for all time zones, they have to adjust it to 3AM, losing an hour of their day. In reality, they didn't lose an hour of their day. Kasi palit lang 'yun sa one hour na nadagdag sa oras nila when their time fell back last year when they switched back from DST.

You must be wondering why does this mean to me when I'm not in the US naman? Well, I kinda follow US Time. I work in a call center remember? And US-based ang account namin, for others they call it campaign. So I'm very much familiar with it, I have to.

With that being said, mas magiging maaga na ng one hour ang schedule ko tomorrow. Instead of 3AM, I have to come to work at 2AM. Ouch! Too early for me. Hirap pa naman gumising ng mas maaga. I am already used to getting up at 2:30AM to be at work on or before 4AM. Now I have to get up at like 12:30AM?! Hello tardiness! :(

But the nature in me, always looking at the bright side, tells me, mas maaga ako papasok, opkors, mas maaga din ako uuwi. Oo nga naman! Kaya sige na nga, keri na. At good luck na lang to moi.

Americans kasi e. I learned that it originated based on financial grounds. During DST, they have more sunlight in the evening. Yes, 9PM na tirik pa din ang araw. Makaka-save nga naman sila ng power. And whole lot more other reasons. Is it good or bad? I don't know. I guess, may pro's and con's. I was reading an article nga about it and the comments are iba-iba opkors. Meron kakampi, meron kaaway. Haha!
