It's More Fun Being Blue!

Quarter Recognition Party, Cook-out Party, Christmas Party. Anything that has party in it  (except for third party opkors!) is sure fun at work. Not to mention, we only get to have one once in 3-4 months...if we get lucky. And we sure did get lucky today! Our account just had a cook-out party for meeting/exceeding the goal for Connectech sales. Although it was not really a cook-out  party by definition kasi cooked na ang food when they got to the venue, that was in our humble parking lot. Spell tipid! ^_^ But that didn't bother us. It was scheduled for breakfast. So we took our "lunch" for breakfast. You know what I mean, all you call center peeps out there, yes?

The stage. The emcee. The bosses.

The Stage

I heard Joy remarked, "parang reception sa kasal ang stage." Grabe ka naman Joy. Keri na 'yan. ^_^ QA Rommel was our emcee for the event. And the bosses, ah, uhm. They're Americans? I suppose. Haha. Sorry, I don't even know my bosses' names. What a shame!

The stage. The emcee. The bosses. Take 2.

Closer look na lang dahil 'di natin alam namesung nila. Wafu!

The Band

More than the food and the raffle prizes and anything else, my friends, Apol and Golden and the others, and myself were looking forward to seeing the performance of our friends, The TCC band. Why the hell did they name their band like that? Siguro TCC lahat banding niyo 'no? Aminin! ^_^

The TCC Band
Ninio, Charlie, Joy, Vic

Muntik nang matakpan ni Joy si Vic dito sa picture ha. ^_^
Ninio on guitar, Charlie on guitar,  Joy on guitar and Vic on vocals and drums. Isa lang ang kilala kong string instrument. Si guitar. Ako na ang musically inclined.

Glaiza and her cousin on vocals
Glaiza's cousin

Glaiza and her cousin sure come from a very talented family. Ganda lang ng boses!  The band played Hey, Always Something There To Remind Me and Rolling In The Deep.

Joy and I were joking thru YM about Vic's singing talent.

Me: Ganda pala ng boses ni Vic ah. Parang 'yung bulag lang sa overpass sa Maharlika. :))

Joy: Oo nga e. :))

Me: Kaka-inlab! :X

Joy: Wag ka ma-inlab dun. Parang tatay mo na 'yun. =))

Me: Gagi! Jowk lang naman syempre. :))

Super laughs. ^_^
In fair, ganda naman talaga!

The Food

The buffet table

I really appreciated this cook-out party because I saved one meal for today. ^_^ It was an eat-all-you-can buffet. I was so full when I left. There were a variety of choices. Scrambled eggs, meat balls, hamonado (?), friend chicken, tocino, corned beef, ham, sauteed veggies, chicken adobo (?), bread, fruits, veggie salad with creamy garlic dressing, fried rice opkors and iced tea for the drink.

My fully-loaded-with-meat plate
Veggie Salad With Creamy Garlic Dressing

Ninio and I agreed that the veggie salad, because of its dressing, was the standout.

Fresh strawberries

My only comments on the food were: almost all of them were bathing in oil and fats and there was only a few choices for veggies. But those didn't bother most of us. Lafamity!

The Company

Who are better people to be with in parties like this than our friends at work? Opkors, no one.

(L-R) Russelle and his daughter and my inaanak Milo, Teddy, Apol
(L_R) Golden, Ms. Jean, Coach Ashley, Teddy and Apol

The Photo Booth

I think this is the new in-thing in parties of any kind - birthday party, wedding, debut, company Christmas party, lahat na. Hindi namin pinalampas 'yan.

QA Raymund, OM Anabel and was that Ian Rupert or QA Erick?

Oh, I had to zoom in the original photo, it was QA Erick. ^_^

OM Anabel looking very serious
Coach Gina, Ms. Jean, OM Anabel striking a pose

Three shots per set. I heard Coach Gina said, "Naubusan na ako ng pose."

Golden, Apol, Moi

Those who've seen the print were laughing. "Parang passport ID picture lang ah." We know. They were very boring shots. We were still warming up then.

Kami pa din, warmed up slightly a bit
Kami pa din, this time with Teddy, Ninio and Charlie

In two of the photos taken from the booth, my eyes were shut. Ako na ang antukin sa picture. ^_^

*Thanks Apol, for the soft copy of the photos from the booth.

The Beer Station

That early in the morning, they served beer. No one cared. In fact, people loved it, especially those whose shifts were about to end for the day. And true enough, those who would have already been gone by 8-9AM on regular days, were still there until 1-2PM, drinking. Four kegs of beer. Yes, that much. Flowing it was.

*Teddy, I'm still waiting for the photos of the kegs and the drinking peeps. Send them to me ASAP, yes?

The Raffle Prizes

One Connectech sale gives an agent one raffle entry. So more sales mean more chances of winning. But the ones who have the most number of sales, unfortunately, didn't win anything. Raffle prizes were 21-inch (?) LCD TV, digital camera, netbook, USB flash drive, Samsung Galaxy phones. Wow! Spell galante this time! ^_^

Overall, that was a filling, fun event. I look forward to the next one.

See a related post here about this event from my friend Apol.

Ciao!
