Loyalty Award

Hello, hello there!

This time, I think I can already keep up with the Kardashians. Charowt! Hindi, I think I can keep my promise na that I kept breaking na I would be updating this blog more often. Baket 'ka 'nyo? Tada! I'm so happey! Note the "somehow" over there.

Sun subscriber na ako for 5 years. Last week, I got a text from Sun saying I could get a pocket WiFi 50% off the price. I visited The Sun Shop 2 days after I got the text.

After mahabang paliwanagan at kumbinsihan, pumayag na akong bumili for Php 1,500.

Sign-sign ng forms, ready-ready ng bayad , ganun, while she took the pocket WiFi sa stockroom nila.

Rep: Ang swerte niyo ma'am! May naligaw pang isa. 'Di namin napapansin kasi pareho ng box sa iba.

Winner!!!

Ayun nga, original price was Php 1,500. I could get it at no cost naman pero may lock-in period na 1 year. Ayoko ng lock-in lock-in period, plus 'di ko avail ang 50% off 'pag ganun. I mean, acceptable speed for my surfing needs.

I guess, you'll be hearing from me more often na. *crossing fingers*

So Long, Sbarro!

For so long, Elmer and I have been wanting to try to dine at Sbarro in SM. Just tbc, there's no other Sbarro here in Baguio. I just felt the need to add "in SM" right there. ^_^

Going back. When SM Baguio opened in 2003, there was Sbarro near BDO, then nawala after some time. Then bumalik, this time, next to Celine. Who knows, 'pag nawala ulit this time e 'di na bumalik.

Kasi I read this over a week ago. After reading that, I told my self, "Ha! I gotta this  time."

The n times na pumasok kami ni Elmer sa loob ng Sbarro at nag-check ng food and price list, hindi kami natuloy kumain. I know him so well. He always wants sulit-busog  meals. Mga unli-rice levels, ganown. So, hindi siya masyado convinced sa idea of dining at Sbarro.

Last week, after running some errands sa town (or city, kasi people here in Baguio call the cbd as such), I dropped by Sbarro "in SM" and tried their mushroom pizza and ordered a glass of iced tea.

I'm sorry, Sbarro. There's nothing extraordinary about your mushroom pizza, sabi ko. But I gotta say, it's one huge slice of pizza, almost the same size of the plate. And, I think natural spices ang ginamit, which was good. And, I love it na may spice rack kayo for a couple of options. Although, I find your iced tea much, much sweeter than most iced teas I tasted. Bow.

It was too late para magsisi ako, and I told myself, sana nag-Don Hen na lang ako. But then again, baka naman masarap 'yung ibang pizza nila.

Well, I was there for the experience in the first place after all. So there.

Ciao! ♥

Happy Birthday

...to me!

I am now,

*drum rolls*

29 years old today! Yay!!!

Before, I would feel miserable about the fact that I was already almost 30. My friend Golden would tell me that age was just a number. I contemplated on that...seriously. Then I thought, I don't feel like I'm 29. (I feel like I'm 30! Kidding!) I realized she was right. Age really is nothing but a number. One is only as old as he feels. I feel young, therefore, I am young. ^_^

The truth now is, I look forward to my turning 30 next year. I wonder how it's like to be one. Again Golden told me that an average person's life daw is at its happiest at 33. Yay!!! I'm 4 years away from the happiest year of my life. But that thought makes me wonder, will my life eventually start to become less happy or unhappy when I turn 34? Whatcha think guys? Me thinks not so.

How did I spend my birthday? I'm so sorry to disappoint you, my dearies, but it was just an ordinary day for me. I worked. I didn't file for a leave. I was not in the mood for a celebration. Ilang araw nang bumabagyo dito sa Baguio. And you see, I never had a yaya  since this past Sunday. I was feeling really tired - physically, mentally, emotionally. In fact, during those days when I couldn't go to work because I didn't have a yaya, I forgot that it was my birthday in a few days. Yesterday, Elmer said, "Ang init ng ulo mo Mahal. Birthday mo pa naman bukas." I was so stunned by what he said. I stopped for a quick moment and gathered myself. Well, I survived those days. Having no yaya for a few days didn't kill me. ♫ What doesn't kill you makes you stronger! ♪ I love that song. ^_^

My Muder gave me the most wonderful gift - a new yaya! Yay!!! She arrived last night bitbit ang new yaya. Mothers really know best. Da best ka Muder!

I started my day today very early (as usual) to work. It was raining really hard with strong winds all day dahil sa bagyo. After shift, I went to PRC to have my Sisterful's board exam result certificate authenticated. Whatever that means.

We went straight to SM which is near PRC. Basa na ang mga shoes namin and since my friends Karen, Golden and Apol are so much into water shoes these days, opkors kasi nga tag-ulan na, I felt like I wanted to have a pair too. May inggit factor. ^_^ So I bought myself a pair of water shoes and my Muder pairs of slippers.

Taste Buds At Work: Mr. Kimbob's Bulgogi Japchae Dubbob

It was Mother's Day. I had work in the morning and needed to run some errands in the afternoon. Elmer also had work that day. Straight from work, I went to town and did what I had to do. When I was already about to go home, and even when I had just arrived in town, I was already starving.

I have already tried Mr. Kimbob's Bibimbob, Kimbob and Shabu-Shabu many times. (I think their names are really intended to say "bob" at the end instead of the supposed "bap". Whatcha think?) So I told myself I gotta try something different that time.

Before I continue, let me share to you a li'l lesson on Korean language. (Howkei. What am I now after a few Korean meals? An expert on their language? ^_^) I may be wrong with some of these. I only got these from all over the Internet. Feel free to correct me.

Another Fun Day

I know Calli also gets bored from staying home the entire week while Daddy and Mommy go to work and while her Ate Nikki is so much busy and having a great time in Pangasinan doing a lot of things with their Mama Shirley. So whenever Mommy and Daddy have a day off work that falls on the same day, we go out. That's what we did yesterday. We brought yaya with us but we let her go her own way. I think that was a good idea. Parang day off din niya. She doesn't want naman to go out of the house nang 'di kami kasama e. Plus,  when Daddy, Calli and I, just the three of us, had merienda, 'di namin siya kasama kaya nakatipid kami. Haha! Apparently, she went shopping for clothes and watched the Kapuso Mall Show at the events center.

These are some photos of Calli that I took in Playmates, Quantum and Sooo Good! (KFC).

In-avail niya lahat.

Taste Buds At Work: Bubbatealicious Caramel Milk Tea

Elmer and I frequent SM City Baguio. Whenever there's a change in it, we notice. Whenever there's a new food shop, we notice...and drool. Whenever there's a scheduled weekend sale, we know. Whenever there's rally, we know. ^_^ Well, who doesn't? Most people here in Baguio do. This is a small city, and there's only one decent mall here. Yep, SM City Baguio that is. (Howkei, this is not a paid post. I wish!)

Couple of months ago, I noticed this new stall somewhere near the food court area - Bubbatealicious Pearl Milk Tea Place. I can't tell you how much I love milk tea. I was introduced to milk tea when I was...I don't remember. A cup of water (hot or warm then just chill sa fridge later on), tea bag (Susan Baker or Lipton), brown sugar and canned evaporated milk (I prefer Carnation).

An Accidental Bonding Moment

Our yaya had requested long time ago to have a quick vacation in April because she's attending her cousin's wedding. She already left for her 2-day vacation yesterday. Calli and I had to bring her to the terminal of transport vans going to Cabanatuan City.

Calli: Ba-bye Ate Lyn. Mahal-mahal kita.

Aaaw, Calli's so sweet talaga.

I already had planned to take a cab and drop by SM Supermarket for a quick grocery shopping after that. Because the van terminal is just right beside Burnham Park, instead of taking a cab right there from the terminal, I decided that Calli and I take a walk through Burnham Park and take a cab from the southern side of Burnham Park on Lake Drive. I thought that was already quite a long walk for both Calli and me.

I was surprised how Calli enjoyed running outdoors. She ran and ran...and ran all over until she got tired of running. Well, actually, she didn't get tired. I had to make her stop because we already had to leave for the supermarket.

Look at these photos of her at Burnham Park.

The Mimicker

So. I've written here about how we spent our Maundy Thursday.  We went malling. We tired ourselves going up and down all the floors via the escalator. We did mostly window shopping and a li'l shopping on the side.

I like taking photos of legs on escalators of whoever is in front of me.

Nung una, normal lang.
Normal pa lang din.
Lyn: "Ate, ginagaya ni Calli si Kuya."
And again.

Calli does this funny thing of mimicking other people's gestures, actions, words, expressions, etc. I already noticed this Calli's escalator thing way before when we were together at the mall. It made me laugh but I didn't have my camera with me then.

Check out the 9th to 12th photos from the top here. That's again the mimicking kid.

Haaay Calli! You make me crazy and laugh and happy. I love you! ^_^

SM's Got It 'Almost' All For Us

What makes an excellent toothpaste? There are a number of brands in the market that offer a lot (minsan kahit parang imposible naman). Our toothpaste supply have always come from the US (sushal?). Please don't take that as yabang or what not. Remember this post? Toothpaste is one of the usual relief goods that Mommy Martha sends us. We usually get Aim, Aquafresh, Crest or Pepsodent.

Just this afternoon, our last tube already flattened to emptiness so I had to go out and do a quick grocery shopping after settling some bills. I mostly shop at SM Supermarket. I love it that the aisles are wide, the place is clean plus I also love getting points for my SM Advantage Card. I thought the brand did not matter to me but I was wrong. There were the brands mentioned above on the shelves plus a lot more other options but there was one brand that I still tried to search...Colgate. I thought I already checked all the shelves so I gave up. I skipped the toothpaste and went to the counter to pay for the other things in my basket. I decided that I just bought Colgate from another grocery store along the way to the jeepney terminal. So I did.

Perfect!

Just a few minutes ago, out of curiosity, I googled "no Colgate in SM Supermarket" and found this and this.

Those answered my question. Two of my favorite brands, Colgate and Palmolive, cannot be found in SM Supermarket. SM's tag line should really be changed then. We've got it almost all for you! With the emphasis on almost

Ciao! ♥
